The Globalization of Nothing: Studi Non Services PayLater sebagai New Culture bagi Remaja Rantau di Surabaya

PayLater merupakan fenomena yang sedang terjadi dikalangan remaja saat ini. Globalisasi yang semakin berkembang dengan pesat membuat teknologi semakin canggih dan banyak inovasi-inovasi baru bermunculan. PayLater merupakan pinjaman online dan termasuk kredit online. Penawaran PayLater yang menarik membuat masyarakat sangat tertarik khususnya dikalangan remaja. PayLater memang sangat mudah digunakan, dalam pendaftarannya tidak membuat pengguna baru kesulitan. Khususnya Remaja Rantau di Surabaya berpendapat bahwa PayLater telah menjadi budaya baru dikalangan mereka sekarang. PayLater dengan mudah masuk dan memiliki daya tarik kuat sehingga menyebabkan berubahnya kehidupan remaja rantau yang ada di Surabaya. Mereka lebih konsumtif karena memang tergiur dengan beli sekarang bayar nanti. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Globalization of Nothing dengan menggunakan konsep Non Services atau bukan pelayanan. PayLater sendiri termasuk kedalam bukan pelayanan karena hanya memberikan pelayanan lewat virtual dengan menawarkan benefit dari PayLater.
PayLater is a phenomenon currently occurring among teenagers. Rapidly advancing globalization is leading to increasingly sophisticated technology and the emergence of numerous new innovations. PayLater is an online loan and falls under online credit. The enticing offers of PayLater have captivated the public, especially among teenagers. PayLater is indeed user-friendly, as its registration process does not pose difficulties for new users. Particularly, the Rantau Youth in Surabaya believe that PayLater has become a new culture among them. PayLater easily integrates into their lives and holds a strong allure, leading to a change in the lives of Rantau teenagers in Surabaya. They have become more consumptive because they are enticed by the "buy now, pay later" approach. This research employs the theory of the Globalization of Nothing, using the concept of Non Services, as PayLater falls into the category of non-services, as it only provides virtual services by offering benefits through PayLater.
