Focus and Scope

JICD: Journal of Islamic Community Development provides opportunities for academics to publish their best works in the form of research articles and academic writings resulting from community service related to the study of Islamic community development. This includes community development in the social, economic, environmental, and public health sectors. The journal aims to become a leading platform for findings and discussions in all of the aforementioned fields. Scholars from any country who are interested in these topics are invited to submit their articles to JICD and make use of this open-access journal.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Community development and empowerment based on Islamic values.

  2. Transformative da’wah and community empowerment.

  3. Models of community-based empowerment, creative economy, and social entrepreneurship.

  4. Community capacity building in education, economy, health, environment, and disaster management.

  5. Socio-religious issues in Muslim communities.

  6. Community service based on participatory research.

  7. Utilization of information technology for community strengthening.

  8. Public policy studies that impact Islamic community development.
